Kyle Kuzma, entering his fourth season in Washington, still hopes to repeat the success he had with the Los Angeles Lakers. That means winning a championship.
Even though Kyle Kuzma is in the middle of his Asia tour, he remains focused and determined on his ambitious NBA goals.
Although there are still a few months left before the start of the new NBA season, players and fans alike are eagerly awaiting it.
Among those eagerly awaiting a move to the NBA is Kuzma, who has ambitious goals with the Washington Wizards.
As he enters his fourth season in Washington, Kuzma still hopes to repeat the success he had with the Los Angeles Lakers. That means winning a championship.
And as a key figure on the Wizards’ roster, any potential title run for Washington must start with him.
“I really like the direction we’re in right now,” Kuzma said during his visit to Manila, his confidence palpable with the Wizards.
Kuzma’s confidence in his teammates is commendable as he praised their character and commitment to the game.
“I like everybody on our team. I think we have really high-quality guys. Let’s talk about Sarr, let’s talk about Bilal, let’s talk about JP. All these guys love basketball,” he added.
For Kuzma, the excitement comes from being surrounded by people who not only share a passion for basketball, but also care deeply about how they are perceived in the basketball world.
An advocate of collective growth, he said: “My goal is simply to make others better. I think I’ve had two consecutive careers [years]. But I want to help someone else have a career. [year]. Help someone else improve, help someone else progress, and I think that’s the real sign of greatness in a player: if you bring other people with you.
Kuzma’s ambitious goals will come with a big challenge, especially considering the Wizards went 15-67 last year.
But at this early stage of the preseason, Kuzma’s eyes are already set on the playoffs, a milestone Kuzma believes is attainable for the Wizards.
“I mean that’s the goal. As long as we keep building. We align as a team and we do it consistently. I think anything can happen, you know,” he said.
Kuzma reflects on the recent trend in the NBA, which has seen a new champion emerge almost every year. Since 2019, the NBA has crowned a new champion in each of the last six seasons.
Why can’t the Wizards be the seventh new champion in seven seasons?
“There’s always a team or a few teams that are better than you think, so you know, why can’t it be us?” he muses, fueling hope and confidence among fans and teammates alike.
Kyle Kuzma’s leadership and optimism are something to look forward to, setting a positive tone for the Wizards as they prepare for the upcoming season.
With a focus on improvement, teamwork and a little magic, Kuzma and the Wizards might just be the surprise the NBA community never saw coming.
