Washington Wizards beginner Georges Kyshawn was among those present on Sunday when The Washington Mystics welcomed the Minnesota Lynx at the Arena of Entertainment and Sports.
George was joined by his teammate Justin Champagnie during the competition, which saw the Lynx emerge victorious 78-71. He has come to watch the Mystics on several occasions and has supported the team since the Wizards selected him with the 24th pick in the NBA draft.
Napheesa Necklace led the Lynx (26-9) with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Courtney Williams had 12 points. Britney Sykes scored 13 points and Ariel Atkins added 12 points for the Mystics, who fell to 11-24 with the loss.
George averaged 7.6 points, three rebounds and 2.2 assists on 42.6 percent shooting last season as a freshman at MiamiHe was the only freshman in the ACC to average at least seven points and three rebounds in less than 25 minutes per game (23.0).
The 20-year-old made his debut with the Wizards in the NBA Summer League, averaging 9.4 points, four rebounds and two assists on 47.6 percent three-point shooting in five games. He scored in double figures twice, including 14 points on July 14 in a loss to the Wizards. Houston Rockets.
