When he’s at his best, the New Orleans Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson is one of the most dominant players in the entire NBA.
Unfortunately for Williamson and Pelicans fans, he’s often not at his best due to injuries that have hampered his young career.
But it looks like Williamson is finally ready to commit to his health this offseason, and he showed it in a new photo that shows what appears to be a dramatic weight loss.

Instagram user Scott G., known by the pseudonym @AClemsonFan4Lifeposted a photo of his sons at Williamson’s youth basketball camp, and the physical difference is staggering.
Previous reports suggested Williamson bulked up to over 300 pounds during the 2023 offseason due to a lingering injury.
Williamson’s weight gain was so dramatic that ESPN Stephen A. Smith even called him out on his bad eating habits..
“It’s not about the game. It’s about how many hamburgers he eats. Whether he’s going to stay in shape or continue to eat at McDonald’s … That’s what he has to prove, that the bosses don’t like him anymore,” Smith said.
Smith suggested that New Orleans chefs love it when Williamson comes to their restaurants because he “eats at the table.”
“It’s shameful. I have chefs in New Orleans. I’m not exaggerating,” he said. “I’m not exaggerating, I’m quoting people. There are chefs in New Orleans who love him. They seek him out. Every chef there wants to meet him because they know he’s coming to their restaurant. Rumor has it that Zion Williamson is going to eat at the table.”
Williamson has always been a big guy, even since his days at Duke. But when he’s on the court, he’s a force to be reckoned with. And now that he seems to be taking his weight more seriously, opposing NBA players could be in big trouble.
