Zion Williamson responds to criticism.
New Orleans Pelicans play pretty good this season since they currently occupy the sixth seed in the Western Conference. However, over the years Zion Williamson received much criticism. Now the superstar striker is hitting back at his enemies.
Williamson let it be known how much he likes to play basketball, according to William Guillory of The Athletic. But what’s most telling is that Zion Williamson says now is the time for the team to start winning, because winning is the best way to silence the critics.
“People don’t understand how much I really love this shit. I do everything I can to do my best for the team and for the people who support me in New Orleans. I understand. You can only use the information that is in front of you. But that’s what’s great about the opportunity we have the rest of the way. We can write our own story. You must win. At this point (in the season), I have to win. This is the only way to show it to people.
He makes an excellent point. If the pelicans were capable of making a deep playoff run or even winning the NBA Finals, the criticism of Zion Williamson would disappear. Additionally, New Orleans would go from a middling team to a championship-caliber franchise. Winning solves a lot of problems and it seems like that’s what Williamson hopes to do.
Zion Williamson and the Pelicans will face the Indiana Pacers in their next game on Friday night. Look for the star striker to put in a strong performance in an effort to back up these comments.
