The Golden State Warriors have failed to make a splash this offseason, which has been another frustration for Dubs fans. Stephen Curry is coming off a gold medal, but most people believe his Warriors team is a long shot at title contention.

Last season, rumors swirled that Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic could be a trade target for the Warriors, but no move has yet taken place.

Asked about the potential trade and the rumors surrounding his name, Vucevic said There is nothing concrete at the moment.

“In most cases, these are just speculations,” Nikola Vucevic said Serbian media B92.sport. Maybe the clubs are talking, maybe there have been discussions, I don’t know, but if there is a call between the teams, it is known immediately and people think it is over. I have not received any information that I will be traded or anything.

Vucevic averaged 18 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists for the Bulls last year, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from three-point range. The four-time NBA All-Star is entering the penultimate year of his contract with Chicago, which will always make him a potential candidate for trade rumors.

“The only thing I have is that I’m staying, that they’re counting on me, that they want me here. If the results had been up to the quality of the team, we could have done some exploits, and there wouldn’t have been all these stories. We didn’t have the season we were hoping for, we didn’t achieve the goal of making the playoffs, so it’s logical that people think about changes and that these stories start,” Vučević said. “Honestly, I don’t pay much attention to it because I have no control over it; I’m not a free agent, so I can’t choose.”

It remains to be seen whether the Warriors will actually take a step forward between now and opening night, but the thinking goes they’ll have to if they want to contend for an NBA championship.
