CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Cleveland Cavaliers officially signed forward JT Thor to a two-way contract on Monday.
Thor spent last season with the Charlotte Hornets. He played in 63 games with three starts, averaging 3.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
In total, Thor spent three seasons with the Hornets from 2021 to 2024. He appeared in 165 games.
Thor was originally selected with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons out of Auburn.
He recently competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as a member of the South Sudan men’s national basketball team, marking the country’s first-ever appearance in basketball at the Olympics.
Thor averaged 6.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in his three games against Puerto Rico, Team USA and Serbia. He also helped South Sudan to its first-ever Olympic victory.
He joins Emoni Bates and Luke Travers as two other players on the Cavaliers Two-Way.
