The calendar has turned to September, which means it’s officially football season in Cleveland, Ohio.
It would be an understatement to say that fans are passionate about their The Cleveland BrownsIt’s more than a team; it’s a lifestyle for fans who put all that passion on display before home games by heading to the famous Muni Lot, just steps from the new Huningont Bank Field.
A familiar face appeared at the tailgate on Sunday, and it was The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell, who was wearing a Brownie the Elf hat, was seen playing cornhole and even bowling on the field.

Mitchell is already one of Cleveland’s most beloved athletes, but this news makes him even more so. There’s no better way to win over fans across the city than to be there on the most anticipated day of the year.
Mitchell signed a contract extension with the Cavaliers earlier this summer. The new deal will keep him in Cleveland through the 2026-27 season with a player option for 2027-28.
Before the deal was made official, there were rumors that Mitchell wasn’t happy playing in Cleveland and wanted to move to a bigger market. The All-Star guard put that rumor to rest with a video saying that he “doesn’t understand” the rumors.
Everyone can say they’re happy, but actions speak louder than words, and this is a great example of that. Mitchell’s presence at the Browns’ first game of the season is just another example of how Mitchell shows his love for the city and the joy he gets from playing in front of their fans.
