Clippers Injury Update: Star Scorer Still in Crutches Vs Hawks After Heartbreak in New Orleans

The Los Angeles Clippers are just hours away from hosting the Atlanta Hawks. They enter the game losing a crucial game to the New Orleans Pelicans, who faced adversity in the latter part of the season. Luckily for them, the Hawks enter the game as the 10th seed in the East and on a 3 game losing streak. Additionally, in addition to playing on the road, they will also be playing undermanned in the game.

Either way, the Clippers have their own struggles. They are currently dealing with Russell Westbrook’s broken left hand, which is declared out of competition. With that, Norman Powell, who brings an ecstatic energy to the team, was seen using crutches and suffering from a bruised knee suffered in the previous game.

Powell tweaked his left leg against Friday’s game against the Pelicans. In addition to bringing intensity off the bench, Powell has evolved into a key role for the Clippers of late, often being a part of the starting and finishing lineup. Given the nature of the injury, the shooter was quickly ruled out of the next match.

For the season, he averaged 13.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Amir Coffey and Brandon Boston can be seen filling Powell’s untouched minutes. He plays nearly 26 minutes per game for the Clippers per night.
