The Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks face off Thursday night at the American Airlines Center.

Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz are in a real slump as they have lost six of their last seven games overall and they are hoping to stop a three-game skid after being beaten by the Thunder in a 119-107 loss last night. Collin Sexton led the team with 25 points and seven assists on 12-of-19 shooting, John Collins added 16 points while Taylor Hendricks chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 36 from the 3-point line as they played excellent defense early to take a narrow halftime lead, but once again they let their hard work go to waste in the fourth quarter where they gave up 37 points by double digits.

Dallas Mavericks

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks are starting to heat up again as they have won six in their last seven games overall and will be looking for a third straight victory after outlasting the Spurs in a road 113 victory -107 Tuesday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 28 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Luke Doncic racked up a triple-double of 18 points with 10 rebounds and 16 assists while Dante Exum chipped in with 16 points coming off the bench. As a team, the Mavericks shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 30 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter, but it was by no means a victory easy like the Mavericks did it. It didn’t really look like I was in control until they closed out the final 4:46 on a 16-8 run to come away with the victory on the narrow road in the end.

Free prediction Utah vs. Dallas

The Jazz are still missing Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen, while the Mavericks are still without Brandon Williams and Josh Green. The Jazz have been mired in their worst slump of the season, they’re still missing two of their best players and they’re playing this one on zero days off, so I’m definitely more interested in the Mavericks playing their best basketball of the season at the right time. The line is certainly heavy, but it’s either the Mavericks or nothing for me because the Jazz are just terrible right now.
