The NBA GOAT debate is largely considered to be a discussion between two players, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. While both players are widely considered to be the top two, different conversations can bring other players into the discussion.

One such debate is the “skill” debate. On a recent episode of Gil’s Arena, eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard claimed that Kobe Bryant was more skilled than Michael Jordan.

“I think Kobe is better than MJ, technique-wise,” Howard said. “He took everything Jordan did and multiplied it. He did it better.”

Needless to say, Howard’s statement sparked controversy among NBA fans. Having played with Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers, Howard got to see the five-time NBA champion up close, so he likely has a greater appreciation for the latter’s skill level.

As Howard mentioned, Bryant emulated a lot of what Jordan did during his time in Chicago. This statement became controversial among fans when Howard said that Bryant took Jordan’s skills and did it even better.

These debates are always subjective, especially when it comes to topics like talent. Bryant was arguably one of the most talented NBA players of all time, and in Howard’s eyes, he was more talented than Jordan.
