It’s summer in the NBA, so the free time is a perfect opportunity to reflect and learn more about the history of the league. Oklahoma City Thunder are a relatively new franchise, they technically share history with the Seattle Supersonics.

The Sonics’ first season was in 1967. The Thunder’s first season was in 2008. That kind of longevity has allowed several players to wear nearly every jersey number available.

In the midst of boredom, Thunder wire We’re going to look back at all 51 jersey numbers worn, from 00 to 97. This exercise will include the history of the Sonics. Let’s look at the three players who wore jersey No. 29 during their time with the franchise:

Pervis Ellison, 2001

The former Most Improved Player Award winner spent his final season with the Sonics, playing just nine games in Seattle.

Mike Wilks, 2006-2010

Wilks played three times for the Sonics and Thunder, totaling four seasons. He was part of the Sonics’ last team before they were traded to OKC in 2008. He missed the following season with a knee injury before returning for his final season with the Thunder. He averaged 3.8 points in 64 career games in OKC. He has been an assistant with the Thunder since 2019.

After years of teasing, Micic finally made the jump to the NBA. The decorated foreign player spent just half a season with the Thunder. He averaged 3.3 points and 2.5 assists in 30 career games in OKC. He was traded to the Hornets at last year’s trade deadline.
