Hampton was the 24th pick in the 2020 NBA draft and came into the league considered a player with a lot of potential.
He spent time with the Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat over four seasons.
His career averages are 6.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, while shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from three-point range in 170 regular-season games.
Hampton could prove to be a nice addition to a team for training camp (or on a 10-day contract).
He’s only 23 years old, so he still has plenty of time to become an NBA rotation player.
