Over the past few weeks, our friends at sister publication HoopsHype have been surveying their staff members regarding positional rankings for the next 2024-25 NBA season.
Today they released perhaps the most important ranking of all: a list of the top 100 players.
This list is based on future projections for the 2024-25 season, rather than a strict analysis of past seasons. As such, younger players who are likely to improve may be ranked slightly higher than in rankings based strictly on performance to date. Similarly, older players who are likely to experience age-related regression may be ranked slightly lower.
For the Houston Rocketsplayers on the HoopsHype Top 100 Players List are:
-
Jabari Smith Jr., forward (88)
-
Fred VanVleet, guard (66)
-
Jalen Green, guard (65)
-
Alperen Sengun, center (39)
This list represents four of Houston’s five projected starters, with Dillon Brooks being the only one to miss the Top 100 selection.
Explanations of these Houston player rankings are available on HoopsHype’s full listas well as a look at the league as a whole. Unsurprisingly, Denver’s Nikola Jokic – with three Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards in his last four seasons – tops the rankings.
