Former North Carolina forward Armando Bacot signed a contract with the Memphis Grizzlies The team announced Friday that the deal is expected to be an Exhibit 10 contract.

Bacot was a third-team All-American last season with the Tar Heels after averaging 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks on 54 percent shooting as a fifth-year senior. He was also a second-team All-ACC selection after leading the conference in rebounds.

The 2.08-m left the program as the all-time leader in games played (169), total rebounds (1,715), offensive rebounds (593) and double-doubles (87). He is second in team points scored (2,347) and tied with Tim Duncan for the second most double-doubles in NCAA history.

Bacot played with the Utah Jazz in summer league after not being selected in the draft this year, averaging 7.2 points, five rebounds, 1.2 steals and one block in four games between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. He had his best game on July 21 with 11 points and three rebounds.

The 24-year-old will attend Grizzlies training camp and spend next season in the G League with the Memphis Hustle under his Exhibit 10 contract. He can receive a bonus of up to $75,000 if he is released and remains with the Hustle for at least 60 days.

After a successful college career, Bacot will make the jump to the Grizzlies. He will have the opportunity to develop his skills and overall abilities during training camp and the regular season with the Hustle.
