The Knicks’ new radio voice comes from the Red Sox.
Tyler Murray, a 34-year-old “lifelong Knicks fan,” will replace Ed Cohen as the regular play-by-play commentator next season on ESPN New York Radio, MSG Networks announced Thursday afternoon.
The Connecticut native currently replaces Will Flemming for radio commentary on Red Sox games.
Murray also served as the lead voice of the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox, and his broadcasting experience includes college basketball and hockey.

Monica McNutt, also a regular on television, returns for her second season as the lead analyst for Knicks broadcasts on ESPN New York, which recently moved frequencies from 98.7 FM to 880 AM.
Cohen was the game voice from 2017 until last season, when a medical issue involving his voice kept him off the air.
Pat O’Keefe played a leading role as the Knicks had their best season in more than a decade, winning 50 games for second place in the East and advancing to Game 7 of the second round.
Including O’Keefe, Murray will be the Knicks’ fifth regular radio announcer since 2011, joining Spero Dedes, Mike Crispino and Cohen.

“As a lifelong Knicks fan, it’s always been a dream of mine to play Knicks,” Murray said in the press release. “The city, the Garden, the fans, there’s nothing like Knicks basketball. It’s an absolute honor to join MSG Networks and I’m excited to work to continue their incredible Knicks coverage on ESPN Radio.”
