Memphis Grizzlies guard Derrick Rose was one of the most electrifying players in the NBA during his prime. The league’s MVP in 2011, Rose averaged 25.0 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds while going 61-21 that season.

Although injuries limited Rose’s prime, many still remember his time with the Bulls when reflecting on that era of NBA basketball. Also a star before entering the NBA, Rose recorded one of the best high school mixtapes of all time.

After attending high school in Chicago, Rose became a basketball star in the city before being selected by the Bulls with the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft.

Current and former NBA stars like John Wall, Austin Rivers, Zion Williamson, Andrew Wiggins and others are among those who own incredible high school video tapes. When recently asked who he thinks has the best high school video tape of all time, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic picked Rose.

“D-Rose,” Doncic responded after admitting he didn’t watch many basketball mixtapes on YouTube growing up.

Rose is certainly in the running for the best high school mixtape of all time. A basketball phenom long before he made it to the NBA, Rose eventually took the league by storm in Chicago.

Now with the Memphis Grizzlies, Rose is nearing the end of his NBA career, which has so far spanned 15 seasons.
