A rough start to the season made the Chicago Bulls look like they were doomed, but as the year went on, their potential future plans grew brighter and brighter. Not only have they pushed their way back into the Play-In race, but Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu have become solid building blocks.
Now, as they prepare for the offseason, they must aim to add more young talent to help White and Dosunmu. At the same time, they should be I’m looking to add some guys who can become solid players themselves, as they don’t have any great young talent on the roster outside of White and Dosunmu.
A recent NBA simulation project of No ceilings asks them to select a guy who could fulfill both distinctions: Collin Murray-Boyles of South Carolina.
“South Carolina’s Collin Murray-Boyles has been one of the most productive freshmen in the Class of 2024,” Corey Tulaba wrote. “The 6’7″ southpaw with a 7’2” wingspan has some Julius Randle in his game, fusing physicality and finesse. Murray-Boyles is a crafty interior presence with a playmaker feel who can front and attack or seal off his man and finish on the block. Defensively, he can move his feet and move to the perimeter while providing enough rim protection to be able to play some five-man minutes. Murray-Boyles’ lack of perimeter shooting ability won’t fill an immediate need for a Bulls team in the bottom ten shooting range, but going after a talented young forward who has been killing advanced stat models is a change worth making. for a mid-tier team that needs an influx of young talent.
Murray-Boyles isn’t a shooter, but he’s the kind of versatile forward who could be an intriguing piece on a Bulls lineup that already has a solid amount of offensive creation.
