THE Brooklyn Nets trade Mikal Bridges to compete with the New York Knicks, a team looking to rebuild after the implosion of the The Big Three Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. Although Ben Simmons didn’t play significant minutes with them, they tried to put their cards on Bridges, but they realized they were just treading water. Additionally, the Nets explored a trade for Dorian Finney-Smithbut their asking price for two first-round picks was too high for suitors.
However, ESPN’s Tim McMahon believes the Nets won’t find that deal in this market, and will have to settle for less if they want to get rid of the 3-and-D wing.
“If you’re looking for 3-and-D wings, you have to call Sean Marks,” McMahon said on a recent episode of The Hoop Collective. “There’s no reason Dorian Finney-Smith should be in Brooklyn after the trade deadline. Last year, the Nets were telling teams they wanted two first-round picks for him. That’s not going to happen, but he’s the epitome of a 3-and-D wing.”
