What there is to know
If the bettors’ predictions are true, the near future looks promising for the Thunder. They will face the Utah Jazz at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday at the Paycom Center after having a few days off. The Jazz suffered a loss in their last game and will look to turn things around against the Thunder, who picked up a win.
This past Saturday, Oklahoma City didn’t have much breathing room in their game against the Grizzlies, but they still came away with a 118-112 victory. This victory made it two consecutive victories for the Thunder.
The Thunder relied on the efforts of Jalen Williams, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Chet Holmgren, who had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Utah fell short against the Timberwolves on Monday and lost 114-104. This defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for the Jazz in their clashes with the Timberwolves: they have now lost five in a row.
Oklahoma City has been on a roll lately: they’ve won five of their last six games, which is a nice improvement from their 47-20 record this season. As for Utah, they haven’t been great recently as the team has lost five of their last six games, which took a major dent in their 29-39 record this season.
A high-performance offense is likely on the agenda, as both teams are among the highest-scoring teams in the league. The Thunder have had no problem running up the score this season, averaging 120.7 points per game (they are ranked third overall). However, it’s not like the Jazz’s struggles in that department, as they averaged 117.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to rack up points, the only question that remains is who can run up the score.
The Thunder came up short against the Jazz in the teams’ last game in February, losing 124-117. Will the Thunder have better luck at home than on the road?
