With training camp just weeks away, the The Philadelphia 76ers should hire a new member of management.
According to ESPN Adrien Wojnarowski, The Sixers hire Ariana Andonian to join the front office with the title of vice president of player personnel.
Although Prosper Karangwa held that title throughout the 2023-24 NBA season, it appears that Andonian’s presence won’t change Karangwa’s status within the front office.
According to The Voice of Philly Adam AaronsonKarangwa and Andonian will hold the same title next season. However, they will have different areas of focus.
The last time the Sixers made significant management changes was in 2020, after a disappointing first-round playoff exit. Back then, the Sixers signed Daryl Morey from the Houston Rockets. While he gained the power to have final say on roster moves over general manager Elton Brand, the team kept Brand as the centerpiece of the management.
During the 2023–24 NBA season, the Sixers reached an extension with Morey. Shortly after, Brand also extended.
Andonian joins the Sixers after spending four years as a front office manager with the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2020, Andonian was hired as Senior Manager of Personnel after serving as Player Personnel Consultant at Duke University. After two years in Memphis, Anadonian became the Director of Player Personnel.
