The Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has had a fantastic career so far. The 2.13 m tall Cameroonian has shown his ability to score at all levels and he does it at such an efficient and dominant level that he is sometimes compared to Wilt Chamberlain.

After winning the 2023 MVP award, the big man was on his way to another MVP title, averaging 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists in the 2023-24 season before missing two months with a meniscus injury in his left knee. Without that injury, there was no doubt Embiid would win the award again.

HoopsHype ranked the The 78 Best International Players in NBA History and Embiid came in at No. 8 on the list:

Joel Embiid is dominant in every area on both ends of the floor, with a hard-to-stop post game, a perimeter shooting touch that keeps defenses honest, and unreal defensive playmaking abilities thanks to his fantastic size, athleticism, and instincts.

If he can stay healthy and lead the Sixers deep into the playoffs, Embiid has a chance to crack the top five of these rankings eventually.

Health is the only obstacle holding Embiid back. While he has been fantastic, he has yet to advance past the second round in his career. All he needs is one healthy playoff run to prove himself and help the Sixers advance past the Eastern Conference semifinals for the first time since 2001. Once he does, he will climb back up most all-time greats lists.
