The Philadelphia 76ers veteran Kyle Lowry continues to prepare for his 19th NBA season in 2024-25. The future Hall of Fame point guard has an impressive resume thanks to the hard work he has put in so far in his career.
Lowry is set to return to Philadelphia after the Sixers picked him up on the buyout market midway through the 2023-24 season. He averaged 8.0 points and 4.6 assists in 23 games with 20 starts as he got acclimated to playing with stars Joel Embiid And Tyrese Maxey.
As he prepares for his sophomore season, Lowry is back in the gym with a familiar face: former Toronto Raptors teammate and close friend DeMar DeRozan.
Lowry and DeRozan had a lot of success together in Toronto before the Raptors sent DeRozan to the San Antonio Spurs in the Kawhi Leonard trade. Lowry and Leonard went on to lead the Raptors to their first title in franchise history under coach Nick Nurse.
It’s a testament to their friendship that Lowry and DeRozan were able to remain close despite the trade and how things played out afterward.
