The Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George has enjoyed a long run of success during his time in the NBA. The 34-year-old is a 9-time All-Star and is coming off one of his best seasons averaging 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the 2023-24 NBA season. The Los Angeles Clippers.
In 14 seasons in the NBA, George averaged 20.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He was an exemplary player in this league and a great mentor to all the young NBA players looking to break through and take the next step in their careers.
As George heads into the 2024-25 season — his first with the Sixers — he’ll look to help them make the jump in the Eastern Conference. HoopsHype ranked the top 100 NBA players with George ranked #27 on the list:
George was extremely efficient last season, shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 41.3 percent from three-point range and 90.7 percent from the free throw line. George’s problem, and part of what keeps him out of All-NBA conversation right now, is that he doesn’t get to the free throw line often enough to take advantage of that ridiculous accuracy from the free throw line.
Still, George can make extremely difficult shots against even the best defense, which puts him in the same category as some of the best shooters in the game. He just relies on those difficult shots a little too often, which can end up being costly late in tight games. When he loses his composure on the shot, George’s impact on offense also diminishes considerably, as he’s not the type of player who can get to the basket or the free throw line whenever he wants to score easy points.
It’s this efficiency and ability to make difficult shots that will make him a perfect candidate PhiladelphiaThe Sixers need shot creation from the wings and George easily fills that role. His basketball IQ and understanding of how to play with star players such as Joel Embiid And Tyrese Maxey will come in handy as Philadelphia heads into the new season.
